Mirthwood, the popular medieval-themed game, has expanded its virtual world with the introduction of the Foundations update, released on 2025-11-21. This update brings pets, festivals, and dynamic interactions for players.
Updated Gameplay Features
The new update introduces the ability for players to collect and manage pets. Players can now own one of four different pets, such as cats that chase rats and dogs that bark at burglars. These pets are able to gather resources automatically, adding strategic value to the game.
Additionally, Mirthwood now features three seasonal festivals: All Hallows Eve in fall, the Festival of Blossoms in spring, and the Summer Solstice. Each festival includes special vendors and 35 event-exclusive items.
New Challenges and Events
The Foundations update enriches gameplay with 35 new random events and triggers, like the Bandit Raid and Vermin Plague, which introduce new challenges by unleashing rats and thieves on villages. Furthermore, NPCs can now face perils: they might die if players ignore crucial quests, adding a new layer of consequence to the game.
A tombstone system records these NPC deaths, ensuring that fresh characters replace them to maintain the vibrancy of the village environment.
