Hypixel Studios has confirmed the price of Hytale at $19.99, as it prepares to reintroduce the highly anticipated sandbox game. Simon Collins-Laflamme, cofounder of Hypixel Studios, repurchased the rights from Riot Games after its prior cancellation.
Pricing and Availability
The announced pricing strategy includes a Supporter pack at $34.99 and a Cursebreaker Founders pack at $69.99. Collins-Laflamme aims for a low price point to maximize accessibility among players, despite the game being unfinished and running on an older build.
Launch Preparations
The development team, now consisting of about 50 people, is working fervently on hardware tests, legal formalities, and crucial fixes for stabilization and security. The studio plans to open pre-orders, name reservations, and account creation shortly.
Community and Modding Support
Technical director Kevin 'Slikey' Carstens highlighted the choice to release earlier to allow community experimentation and development of mods. Additionally, Collins-Laflamme has committed to taking 0% from modders and server owners for at least the first two years.
