Digimon Story: Time Stranger introduces a system where Talent determines a Digimon's level cap. When a Digimon's level meets its Talent value, it will not gain experience until Talent is increased.
Understanding Talent Cap
The starting Talent is determined by the scan rate at conversion, with a 200% rate providing the highest base cap. To maximize growth, unlock the Awakening Sagacity agent skill on relevant skill trees, such as Bonds of Valor and Philanthropy, to add five levels to a Digimon's starting Talent if the personality aligns. Talent does not automatically increase with digivolution; it needs strategic effort.
Methods to Raise Talent
Talent can be enhanced through various methods:
- Participating in battles provides bonus growth for strategic actions like striking weak points.
- Training on the DigiFarm allows passive and gradual Talent progression.
- Loading enhancements increases Talent rapidly by +1 per sacrificed Digimon but is costly.
- Digivolution offers minor Talent growth when Bond is over 10% and applicable to new digivolutions.
Despite digivolution, Talent remains unaffected at worst, retaining the previous form's level. These strategies help elevate a Digimon's Talent towards the maximum efficiently.
