Testing by developer Jinko has revealed that moving while downed in the game ARC Raiders hastens bleed-out time, impacting player survival strategies. When players remain stationary, they can extend their time on the ground, increasing their chances of revival.
Gameplay Observations
In ARC Raiders, side-by-side testing has demonstrated that the down timer decays faster when a player is moving compared to remaining still. This implies a crucial strategy shift for players aiming to maximize survival while waiting for teammates to assist.
Jinko’s findings suggest that utilizing the Downed But Determined skill or having another player administer aid can also prolong the bleed-out time.
Skill Impact and Uncertainties
Interestingly, testers had zero points in skills related to the downed state, confirming the base mechanics. The effect of the Crawl Before You Walk skill, which increases crawling speed when downed, remains ambiguous; a faster crawl could potentially reduce the time in motion, yet its impact on bleed-out remains uncertain.
The findings encourage players to reconsider their tactics when downed, opting to stay still instead of attempting to reposition themselves.
