Resident Evil Requiem: 12-15 Hour Playthrough Expected

20 Nov 2025

Resident Evil Requiem is projected to offer players a gameplay experience of 12 to 15 hours, according to insights shared by Producer Masato Kumazawa. The game, anticipated for release in 2025, strives to align with the gameplay length observed in Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Developer Insights and Expectations

Masato Kumazawa conveyed to Everyeye that the playthrough duration aims to mimic Resident Evil 4 Remake. Director Koshi Nakanishi noted that while each game in the series varies by approach, the main chapters usually offer similar gameplay length. This sets an expectation that Requiem will deliver content on par with the franchise's standards.

According to Nakanishi, the consistent design across the series ensures fans receive a familiar volume of gameplay. Resident Evil Requiem, as a result, promises a substantial engagement reflective of past iterations.

Length in Series Context

Resident Evil games have historically ranged from six to 20 hours. Recent mainline titles, such as Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 7, each provided approximately ten hours of gameplay. By contrast, Requiem is slated to surpass the duration of Resident Evil Village.

A post from leaker Dusk Golem in November 2025 implied that Requiem would be longer than Village but slightly shorter than Resident Evil 4. Although leaks can be unreliable, they offer additional perspective on anticipated length.

Given previous trends and developer remarks, Requiem is likely to be a moderately lengthier installment, supporting players seeking extended engagement.
