Extermination Game Update Brings New Map and Features

08 Nov 2025

Offworld Industries plans to release update 1.8 for Starship Troopers: Extermination in late November 2023. This update introduces a new Company progression system, an ice-themed map called Boreas, and various gameplay features.

New Features and Missions

The update adds a Company progression system that allows player-created groups to level up through 50 tiers, unlocking cosmetic rewards. It also introduces in-game airstrikes that serve as side missions. Players defend new objectives known as Fleet Relays, which when secured, enable bombing runs against arachnid opponents.

Additionally, a new ice-themed map named Boreas enhances the Critical Strike mode. This offers fresh strategic opportunities for players navigating the icy terrain while engaging in battles.

Future Additions and Enhancements

Besides the aforementioned changes, Offworld Industries has outlined future updates for Extermination. These plans include introducing a new enemy called the Hopper Bug, two additional weapons—the smart rifle and the Morita 3 assault rifle—and the M11 Babar mech suit. Despite being less renowned than Helldivers 2, Starship Troopers: Extermination maintains its allure through these updates, enhancing the game's multiplayer experience.
