Com2uS has announced Gachiakuta: The Game, a survival action RPG inspired by the manga and anime franchise. Developed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam, no specific release date has been disclosed yet.
Game Details and Development
The game aims to faithfully adapt the gritty aesthetic and dynamic battles of its source material. It features signature graffiti designs by Hideyoshi Ando. The announcement included a trailer showcasing in-development graphics and the opportunity for players to 'crawl back from the abyss of Hell to change this lousy world.'
Gachiakuta's storyline revolves around Rudo, a protagonist falsely accused of murder. Cast into a trash-filled abyss, he joins the Cleaners to fight 'trash beasts' using special abilities.
Franchise Background
The Gachiakuta franchise has seen a surge in popularity, with Studio BONES producing the first anime season highlighting Rudo's journey. Voiced by Aoi Ichikawa, Rudo's tale captures his battle for redemption. The second anime season is currently in production.
Meanwhile, the manga continues to serialize in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine, since its launch by creator Kei Urana in February 2022. The franchise's growing momentum adds strong anticipation for the game's development and release.
