Fans of the eagerly anticipated 'Hollow Knight: Silksong' are excited to discover the new Clawline feature, which promises to enhance gameplay significantly. This skill, available in Act 2, allows players to transform Hornet’s needle into a versatile tool, functioning much like a harpoon.
The journey to unlocking the Clawline begins in the eastern realms of the Underworks, accessible only after procuring the White Key from Songclave's eastern wall. Once the player drops into the Underworks from Whiteward, the path to mastery is set into motion.
Navigating the Underworks
Upon entering the Underworks, players should head to the left, seeking out a bench for rest. With the Magma Bell equipped, if available, the next step is to activate the fan wheel, riding the current upwards to the central pillar. A careful descent is required, where players are tasked with navigating the environment filled with hazards such as flowing lava and explosive yellow rocks carted by bugs.
A sense of urgency is paramount as staying too long on some platforms could result in burns, necessitating swift and calculated movements. At the passage's conclusion, a leap into a shaft leads players onward, requiring a strategic decision to skip the first exit and instead aim for the lever door at the end. Activating the door grants passage and heralds a new phase of the journey.
The Path to Clawline Mastery
Inside The Cauldron, players are tasked with traversing leftwards across a series of platforms before finally encountering the skill shrine. Here, interaction with the shrine binds the Clawline to Hornet, unlocking its full potential. This essential ability not only opens new avenues for exploration by bridging previously insurmountable gaps but also offers tactical advantages in combat scenarios by allowing quick evasion of enemy attacks.
Players will find the introduction of the Clawline transforms their experience, endowing Hornet with the agility and fluidity needed to conquer the intricate and perilous landscapes of Silksong.
