Throne and Liberty is set to receive significant adjustments to the Orb weapon this month. Developed by NCSoft and Amazon Games, the MMORPG is addressing balance issues in various gameplay modes.
Orb Weapon Balance
The introduction of the Orb support weapon has sparked concerns due to its dominating performance in both PvE and PvP modes. According to Tico, the globalization design manager, the Orb and crossbows combination is performing too effectively, potentially undermining class diversity and trivializing complex game content. Adjustments are planned to rectify these issues.
The team has acknowledged PvP concerns, especially regarding how the Orb interacts with other weapons, but plans to give the player base time to develop counterstrategies before implementing changes.
Game Updates and New Features
In addition to Orb adjustments, the game is expanding with the new Battlegrounds PvP mode, which has exceeded expectations since its release. Developers are currently working on reducing spawn camping, and ranked play is set to debut in an introductory form in early November.
NCSoft and Amazon Games are also enhancing the accessibility of heroic items. A two-week heroic pass, starting on 2025-10-16, aims to boost progression and weapon mastery for players. Future plans include easier transfers between heroic armor and accessory pieces and more flexible skill perks.
Upcoming Releases
The two newest dungeons, Colossal Coliseum and Fate's Abyss, are scheduled to join the Dimensional Trial rotation by late October. Meanwhile, further details about player housing will be revealed in the upcoming Eye on Solisium video.
