Whiskerwood, a new colony-building strategy game by Hooded Horse and Minakata Dynamics, has officially launched in early access. Set within remote islands, players manage a colony of mice, much like Rimworld, but with an adorable twist.
Gameplay and Features
Players in Whiskerwood build a rodent utopia by overseeing resources, terrain, and weather, while appeasing their feline overlords, The Claws. The game involves feeding and watering workers, meeting production quotas, and dealing with pirate bands. Ships arrive periodically, bringing new recruits with unique traits, adding layers of strategic decisions.
Early Access Details
Whiskerwood offers a robust early access experience with several map sizes, over 100 buildings, numerous quests, and planned naval combat in future updates. The game is available for $29.99 / £24.99 on Steam and is also accessible through PC Game Pass.
Development and Future Plans
Developed by Minakata Dynamics and published by Hooded Horse, Whiskerwood aims to expand its features based on player feedback during the early access phase. With elements like production lines and research points for efficiency, players have ample opportunity to craft and refine their colonies.
