Survival MMO Dune: Awakening, developed by Funcom, has introduced a new feature allowing players to transfer their characters between servers. This feature is part of the version 1.2.40.0 update, responding to longstanding player requests for server transfer functionality since the game's launch in June 2025.
Character Transfer Details
Players can transfer their character, inventory, bank contents including Solari, and vehicles to a new Sietch and World using a transfer token. Each player receives one token, replenishing every week after use. Transfers are initiated through the server browser or the in-game menu, requiring the character to be in the Hagga Basin region.
- Transfers take several minutes to complete.
- Name conflicts require a name change before transfer.
- Transfers from private to official servers are not allowed.
Preparation and Considerations
Funcom advises backing up bases using the Base Reconstruction Tool and vehicles with the Vehicle Backup Tool. Disassembly of larger vehicles with a Welding Torch is recommended if they exceed VBT limits. Valuable items should be stored in inventory or the bank before proceeding with the transfer to ensure all assets are kept secure.
This new option in Dune: Awakening greatly enhances gameplay by offering players more flexibility in managing their in-game resources.
