The foliage is designed to react sensitively to player movement, rustling trees and bushes upon contact to alert players of nearby threats. This feature encourages players to move cautiously through the environment.

The game also introduces an authentic ambient experience, with the development team enlisting a foliage artist and an audio engineer to recreate historically accurate jungle sounds. According to creative director Matt White, elements such as 'the sound of the bugs' contribute to this immersive experience.
