Visions of Eternity Launches with Elite Specs Return

28 Oct 2025

Guild Wars 2's new expansion, Visions of Eternity, introduces the magical island of Castora alongside the return of elite specializations. Released on 2025-10-28, this update brings new gameplay dimensions to the popular MMO.

Expansion Features and Updates

Visions of Eternity delivers two open-world maps and three new mastery tracks, including enhancements for the Skimmer mount. Notably, elite specializations return with new customization tied to trait lines, allowing for greater personalization in builds. Nine elite specs, including the Paragon and Ritualist from Guild Wars 1, reimagine classic playstyles for a fresh experience.

The competitive design team, led by Cal Cohen, decided that reviving elite specs provided more build diversity than new weapon types. This approach aims to honor iconic elements while adapting mechanics like Ritualist spirits for current gameplay.

New Settings and Housing Enhancements

A new homestead map, inspired by Castora's oceanic vistas, offers a three-story ship structure for decoration. Updated housing tools include a duplicate function, a modification feature for existing decorations, and a layout-saving option for homestead transfers. Players can explore ley-line resonances or relax in Castora's pool, enriching the open-world experience.

Additional Inclusions

The expansion introduces the Skimmer Mastery track, enhancing mount capabilities with attack and treasure-detection skills. Players can also find a new legendary weapon and aquabreather among Wizard's Vault rewards and new armor sets. Visions of Eternity is priced at $24.99 / £21.99.
