Arc Raiders players have discovered that PC gamers appear friendlier compared to their console counterparts, influencing the crossplay debate.
Player Behavior Comparisons
Two Arc Raiders testers decided to explore player interactions by disabling crossplay. Over one week, a PC and a PS5 player tracked every interaction. The PC player encountered 172 individuals, with mixed results: 98 wished him luck, 47 shot on sight, 17 extracted peacefully with him, 7 betrayed him, and 3 faked alliances before attacking later.
In contrast, the PS5 player met 237 players. The outcomes were harsher: 102 opened fire instantly, 58 betrayed the player's trust, 42 exchanged positive interactions, 28 faked cooperation, and only 7 led to mutual extraction.
Insights and Implications
The data suggested PC players had a mere 33% negative interaction rate, whereas the PS5 lobby saw negativity in 79% of cases. Factors such as microphones and proximity chat might increase positive interactions, while regions affected player behavior: North Americans communicated more, whereas EU servers were riskier.
This unofficial test suggests that solo PC players may benefit from disabling crossplay to minimize betrayal risks.
