Cellar Door Games has announced the development of Neath, a roguelike, turn-based tactical RPG set for release on Steam in 2026. This new title immerses players in a decaying world overshadowed by an irradiated, inverted tower.
Game Features and Mechanics
Neath incorporates a fluid turn-based system with a unique mechanic that shifts turn order. Players will control both allies and foes, utilizing tactics such as engagement-locking and the attack resolve system. Inspired by games like 'Into the Breach' and tabletop experiences such as 'Mansions of Madness,' Neath introduces innovative gameplay elements.
Players will ascend an ever-changing inverted tower and engage with Fate's Die events that drastically alter game runs. Another key feature is the town of Shale, where players can construct settlements to prepare for their next adventure.
Release Information and Background
According to Kenny Lee, Co-Founder and Lead Programmer at Cellar Door Games, Neath is designed to provide a dynamic gameplay experience. The game is scheduled for a 2026 release on Steam, and a promotional trailer is currently available.
