Coffee Stain Studios, the developer behind the popular game Satisfactory, has announced version 1.2 will bring innovative changes to fluid transportation and performance optimization.
New Features and Enhancements
The standout feature in Satisfactory 1.2 is the addition of a tanker truck and loading station for fluids, providing a new method for transporting resources like water, oil, and fuel. This change addresses player feedback regarding fluid transport and offers a satisfying alternative to refining fluid dynamics in pipelines.
Experimental Branch and Performance
Coffee Stain has launched an experimental branch on Steam and Epic Games. This branch allows players to test a new approach to the spline collision method involved in interactions with items like belts and pipes. The refactor aims to save memory by selectively disabling hitboxes, significantly reducing RAM usage, with some reports noting drops from 60 GB under certain conditions.
Availability and Future Plans
While no specific release date for Satisfactory 1.2 has been set, the developer is currently focusing on the upcoming console release scheduled for November 4, 2025. Meanwhile, the company has permanently lowered prices on many items in its store, aiming to provide more value to players.
