Stranger Things Returns to Dead by Daylight in January 2026

27 Nov 2025

Behaviour Interactive has announced the upcoming release of Dead by Daylight: Stranger Things Chapter 2, scheduled for January 2026. This exciting update marks the second time this popular horror franchise collaborates with the game, following the original chapter's debut in 2019.

New Characters and Map

The new chapter promises to introduce both a new killer and a new survivor. While specific details are still under wraps, the teaser hints at the villain Vecna, though this could lead to overlaps since a similar character appeared in the Dungeons & Dragons chapter as The Lich. Additionally, players can anticipate exploring an all-new map as part of the crossover.

Why This Matters

The return of Stranger Things is a significant event for fans, as only one other franchise, Resident Evil, has been featured twice in Dead by Daylight. This update follows the initial chapter's removal in 2021 and its subsequent reinstatement in 2023. Behaviour Interactive has focused diligently on performance and bug improvements, ensuring a polished experience in this new chapter.

As 2026 approaches, fans of both the series and the game can look forward to a refreshed experience, combining beloved horror elements with new challenges and gameplay features.
