Space Marine 2 Patch 10.2 Enhances Gameplay Experience

19 Sep 2025

Released on September 19, 2025, by Saber Interactive, the latest update for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 aims to enhance the gaming experience with Patch 10.2. The patch focuses on balance improvements and bug fixes, addressing several aspects of gameplay to ensure smoother and more fair player interactions.

Key Gameplay Adjustments

An important adjustment was made to the sniper camo cloak, a feature that had sparked debates among players due to its exploitation potential. Previously, the cloak allowed for 'cloak cancel' abuse, causing frustration within the community. With the new update, the first three consecutive activations of the cloak now require no energy, but starting with the fourth activation, it consumes 5% energy. Furthermore, the energy cost increases for each subsequent use. Thankfully, these costs are reset after a ten-second cooldown period, which promotes strategic use without overpowered capabilities.

Another major fix in this patch involves correcting a bug that affected perks, especially the well-known Ascension jump-pack. This glitch had unintentionally caused damage to friendly players, arguably hindering cooperative gameplay. By eliminating this bug, Saber Interactive moves towards fostering a more collaborative and harmonious player environment. Allied flame effects now boast increased visibility, allowing players to navigate dangerous situations more effectively.

Weapon Rebalancing and Encounter Tweaks

The heroic chainsword has undergone rebalancing, improving its strategic value in combat scenarios. The updated base stats enable players to predictably wield this weapon, while a specific light-heavy-heavy combo now concludes with a powerful stomp, offering a fresh tactical approach. Additionally, heavy attack damages have been amplified by 15%, empowering players during intense skirmishes.

Beyond individual weapon adjustments, the update also addresses broader gameplay dynamics. Notably, the frequency of Chaos Spawn packs has been decreased to align with the appearance rate of Tyranid Warriors. This change aims to create a consistent and manageable challenge, ensuring players are neither overwhelmed nor underwhelmed by enemy encounters.

Furthermore, the issue preventing bots from accessing elevators during Exfil missions has been resolved, promoting smoother and less interrupted tactical movements during missions.

As Patch 10.2 goes live, it reflects Saber Interactive's commitment to improving Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. By listening to community feedback and addressing prevalent issues, the developer strives to enhance the balance and enjoyment of the sci-fi warfare experience for its dedicated player base.
