Death Stranding Director's Cut is now available for Xbox Game Pass users on both console and PC. This marks the first time the expanded edition, developed by Kojima Productions, has launched on Microsoft's subscription service.
New Content and Features
The Director's Cut of Death Stranding includes various enhancements to the original 2019 game by Hideo Kojima. It introduces new delivery tools like cargo catapults, support ramps, and a thruster-equipped stabilizer. For players seeking more action, there are expanded melee moves, a non-lethal MaserGun, and a combat-focused location called the Ruined Factory.
Additional features include a firing range, racetrack mode, and Buddy Bots for long-distance transport assistance. These updates heighten the game's traversal and delivery-based gameplay, allowing for richer interaction with its post-apocalyptic universe starring Norman Reedus as protagonist Sam Bridges.
Availability and Compatibility
The game is accessible to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Premium subscribers, according to announcements by Kojima Productions and publisher 505 Games. It also comes optimized for handheld device use, particularly ASUS ROG Ally models supporting Xbox Game Pass, broadening how and where gamers can experience the title.
For those not subscribed to Game Pass, the Death Stranding Director’s Cut can be purchased directly from the Xbox Games Store, offering flexibility for new and existing fans across gaming platforms.
