AMD has addressed concerns following the Adrenalin Edition 25.10.2 driver release, confirming continued support for Windows 10, the RX 5000, and RX 6000 series GPUs. The confusion arose as the release notes mentioned only Windows 11, sparking speculation about dropped support for the older OS.
Driver Support Clarified
Despite Microsoft's announcement that Windows 10 will reach end of support on 2025-10-14, AMD clarified that its software and drivers remain compatible with the OS. An AMD spokesperson stated that Windows 10 support continues within the Adrenalin package via the Windows 11 installer. This means users can still rely on AMD's software for their existing hardware and the previous OS.
Impact on GPU Users
The RX 5000 and RX 6000 graphics cards have been moved to "maintenance mode," but they will still receive essential updates. This decision affects users with these GPUs or integrated devices based on the RDNA1 and RDNA2 architectures. AMD's clarification reassures users planning to transition to Windows 11 but who, for now, want to continue using their existing setups on Windows 10.
