The latest update for Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Shadows introduces a host of much-anticipated enhancements, motivating both new and returning players to explore the game further. The update brings a slew of quality-of-life changes, just in time before the release of the Claws of Awaji expansion. These adjustments promise a richer gaming experience, even for those who aren’t immediately interested in purchasing the forthcoming DLC.
Game Enhancements and Unlocked Features
Key updates include raising the level cap to 100 and broadening upgrade options by introducing two additional levels for each unique building. Gamers can now enjoy 20 new enhancements and three more ranks for hideouts. Players will notice a boost in gold income, character enhancements for protagonists Naoe and Yasuke, improved crafting capabilities, and stronger allies.
A major enhancement is the removal of map fog, a change players have long awaited. Upgrading a study to level four allows scouts to unveil viewpoints and safehouses, effectively expediting travel. When the kakurega reaches level four, uncovering all viewpoints in a province will automatically clear the fog, offering full visibility of the terrain and key locations.
The update also introduces 'mythic' and 'artifact' quality tiers that can be unlocked for epic and legendary items, offering eight new upgrade levels. These are designed as long-term goals, providing significant stat boosts to help players tackle enhanced difficulties in new game plus cycles, with patience and perseverance being the keys to unlocking their full potential.
Time Management and New Mission
Additionally, players can now fast-forward in-game time at any point where they can meditate. After upgrading the nando to level two, players can hold up on the d-pad or the L key to quickly transition to dawn or dusk, making tactical planning more convenient, such as preparing for nighttime strategies without waiting indefinitely.
To top it off, a complimentary story mission is in the lineup, providing players with a new weapon: the Bo staff. This mission, launching alongside the Claws of Awaji expansion on September 16, takes Naoe on an engaging quest to learn from a Bo master. Although initially slated as a DLC exclusive, the mission is now available to all players, regardless of their purchase of the expansion, allowing everyone to wield this cool new weapon.
This substantial update, version 1.1.1, becomes available on September 11, with precise regional timing aligning at 7am PT, 10am ET, 3pm BST, and 4pm CEST. Detailed patch notes are available from Ubisoft, presenting further refinements and a comprehensive list of bug fixes, ensuring a seamless gaming experience for all enthusiasts.
