Microsoft has released its latest cumulative update, KB5065429, for Windows 10 versions 22H2 and 21H2. This mandatory update addresses two publicly disclosed zero-day vulnerabilities and rectifies a total of 81 flaws, enhancing the security and functionality of the Windows 10 operating system.
Key Fixes and Enhancements

Post-installation, Windows 10 22H2 will now be updated to build 19045.6332, while version 21H2 advances to build 19044.6332. The update is accessible via Settings > Windows Update or can be manually downloaded for installation.
Enhanced Input and Compatibility Features
Recognizing diverse user needs, Microsoft has addressed the issue of extended characters displaying as empty boxes in the Chinese Simplified Input Method Editor (IME). Additionally, there is now an improved allowance for UAC prompts on MSI repairs, complemented by an allowlist option for IT administrators.
To assess compatibility before hardening, new SMB client compatibility auditing has been introduced, covering SMB Server signing and SMB Server EPA. Furthermore, Microsoft has attended to issues with supplementary characters in Windows textboxes, ensuring a smoother user experience.
Miscellaneous Fixes and Improvements
The update brings an opt-in licensing feature allowing outbound network traffic, enabling AAD users with Windows 365 to check Extended Security Updates (ESU) eligibility. Updates have also been made to the Country and Operator Settings Asset (COSA) mobile operator profiles, enhancing network compatibility.
Another critical fix included is the resolution of issues where mf.dll failed to enumerate redirected web camera devices on Remote Desktop Services. Additionally, a Narrator labeling fix has been applied to enhance facial recognition protection checkboxes.
Moreover, the update rectifies the Windows Search pane preview process, along with correcting the Family Safety approval flow related to the 'Ask to Use' feature. A marked improvement is noted in the Removeable Storage Access policy behavior, supporting better security practices.
With Windows Backup for Organizations now generally available, enterprises can effectively manage backup and restore scenarios, ensuring data and system integrity. Microsoft confirms that there are currently no known issues associated with the KB5065429 update, making it a robust and comprehensive release for Windows 10 users.
