Enshrouded Adds Water Update Ahead of 1.0 Launch

16 Nov 2025

Enshrouded has introduced water mechanics in its latest update, as the game builds toward a full release in 2026. The creative director, Antony Christoulakis, confirmed that the game is prepared for this milestone, though a specific release date is yet to be determined.

Player Growth and Development Plans

The survival game Enshrouded has seen a surge in popularity with over 4.5 million players joining since its launch. Concurrent player numbers have stabilized between 10,000 to 50,000, according to Christoulakis. The recent "Wake of the Water" update has played a significant role in attracting players.

  • Keen Games' staff has doubled from 40 to 80.
  • The game is preparing for a console release.
• New features include more sharing options for player creations.

Continued Updates and Community Engagement

Christoulakis emphasizes that development will continue even after reaching the 1.0 milestone. Players are actively contributing through a public feature wish board, which helps guide future updates. Keen Games is focused on adding requested features, such as separate quest progressions, and addressing player suggestions.

Notably, Enshrouded is currently available at a discounted price on Steam, 20% off, until 2025-11-24, reflecting a price of $23.99.
