Sunderfolk Update Introduces New One Shot Mode

23 Oct 2025

Sunderfolk, the unique game blending elements from tabletop Dungeons & Dragons, received an exciting update with the release of patch 1.5. This patch introduces the One Shot mode, enhancing gameplay with novel features and missions.

New Features and Missions

The One Shot mode in Sunderfolk allows players to engage in specific story missions and compete for high scores. This can be done solo or with friends, and players can switch characters dynamically to maximize their scores. Points are awarded based on various criteria like enemies defeated, gold collected, and objectives achieved.

  • Patch 1.5 released on 2025-10-22.
  • New missions include Proving Grounds, Snack Run, Slip and Slime, and You Asked for This.
  • One Shot mode enhances replayability with competitive scoring.

System Changes and Quality Enhancements

Accompanying the One Shot mode are several systemic changes. The tavern, which provided food buffs, is now closed. Players use a pre-arranged gear setup recommended before each mission, with scaling adjustments based on mission difficulty. Additionally, the update includes quality-of-life improvements such as customizable combat colors and various bug fixes.

Sunderfolk remains free to try on Steam, and only one person in a group needs access, allowing friends to share the game cost effectively. The update aims to provide quick and competitive gaming sessions while offering fresh missions to enhance replay value.
