Creative Assembly has announced a second delay for the Total War: Warhammer 3 expansion Tides of Torment, now set to release on 2023-12-04. The game studio highlighted ongoing efforts to fix significant AI and faction bugs impacting gameplay.
Critical Bug Fixes and Improvements
Head of community Adam Freeman acknowledged persistent campaign AI issues, specifically affecting the Tomb Kings and Lizardmen factions. Other factions like Beastmen and Chaos Dwarfs continue to face these challenges. Creative Assembly now classifies such bugs as severity-A showstoppers, requiring immediate hotfixes.
This delay does offer time for improvements and fixes slated for release with the expansion. In addition, the accompanying update 7.0 will provide critical updates to the three main factions and introduce The Masque of Slaanesh, a new free legendary lord equipped with the unique Eternal Dance campaign mechanic.
New Features and Events
The creator of TWW3 also plans to launch a new Total War mod manager to replace the legacy launcher, although it will coexist with the older version until the new manager reaches v1.0.
Coinciding with the expansion's release on December 4, Creative Assembly will celebrate its 25th anniversary. The event will showcase the TWW Championship and feature roundtables, alongside reveals of upcoming historical and fantasy titles.
The community can anticipate a first look at the expansion's gameplay on 2023-11-06.
