Stronghold Crusader has released a significant update featuring new content and a paid DLC package. This update, available now, includes both free and paid elements designed to enhance the gameplay experience.
New Features and Content
The update introduces a new CPU Lord known as the Crocodile, which is not an actual reptile, along with new maps for Skirmish, Freebuild, and multiplayer modes. Additionally, players can access the paid DLC titled The Canary and The Trader, priced at $4.99 or £3.99. This DLC introduces a nine-mission skirmish trail named Sands of Time that includes target completion times and leaderboards.
Indie Game Crossover
One of the most talked-about elements of this update is the inclusion of iconography from 13 well-known indie games through a customizable coat of arms system. This feature includes titles such as Cult of the Lamb, Going Medieval, and Inscryption. Firefly Studios describes this effort as "potentially the biggest indie PC crossover ever," illustrating the unique collaboration between these games.
Seasonal Enhancements
Alongside the new features and DLC, the Stronghold Crusader autumn event brings additional customization options and challenges to the player base. This update is akin to a strong invitation for both loyal fans and new players to dive into the castle-building and strategy game.
