Tempest Rising Integrates Powerful Superweapons

30 Nov 2025

Tempest Rising has expanded its late-game strategy options by introducing superweapons for the GDF and Tempest Dynasty. Released by Slipgate Ironworks on 2025-11-30, the update enhances gameplay with the Drone Strike Station and Excavator Platform.

New Superweapons Overview

The Drone Strike Station for the GDF offers a strategic advantage with an extensive vision radius. When fully charged, it can execute an aerial drone strike, deploying nine tungsten Drone Turrets that dominate the target area for one minute. Each turret supports up to three respawning combat drones, adding a formidable element to engagements.

The Excavator Platform, used by Tempest Dynasty, functions as a flexible siege engine. It features the Strike Team Drill Pod, which can transport up to 18 units by burrowing below enemy lines, and the Combat Excavator, which fires concussive waves, dismantling armor and structures while deploying a garrison at its target point.

Market Impact and Future Plans

These additions enhance the tactical variety and depth of Tempest Rising, challenging players with novel offensive and defensive strategies. According to Slipgate Ironworks, these superweapons create new play dynamics, and the company hints at future updates and content expansions for Tempest Rising.
