Creative Assembly has launched a new mod manager for Total War: Warhammer 3 in early access on Steam, aiming to replace the legacy launcher. This initiative allows players to manage mods more efficiently, offering functions such as saving and sharing mod profiles and highlighting dependency issues.
Early Access Features
The early access mod manager introduces several key features designed to enhance gameplay. Users can toggle installed mods, select specific save files for campaigns, and automatically activate mods in use. Though described as "very functional and plain," visual improvements are in the works.
However, the current version lacks the ability for users to upload mods to the Steam Workshop, a feature which many players consider crucial. Creative Assembly is seeking feedback to refine the tool, acknowledging the presence of potential bugs during this testing phase.
Transition and Future Updates
While the new system undergoes testing, the old launcher remains available to ensure a stable transition for players. Concurrently, Creative Assembly is preparing Total War: Warhammer 3 update 7.0, with an anticipated release on 2025-12-04. This update will enable the Immortal Empires campaign for players owning only Total War: Warhammer or Warhammer 2.
The update will temporarily disable rollback build options, a move that suggests further substantial changes could be forthcoming. Creative Assembly's dual approach indicates a measured commitment to improving player experience while managing risks.
