After 28 years since its original release, the classic first-person shooter Blood is receiving another refreshing remaster, now titled Blood: Refreshed Supply. Known for its gritty atmosphere and challenging gameplay, the game is making a striking comeback thanks to developer Nightdive Studios. This marks Nightdive’s second attempt to modernize the 1997 shooter, following the 2019 release of Blood: Fresh Supply.
Enhanced Features and Console Debut
Blood: Refreshed Supply promises an array of advanced features to bring the game into the modern era. Players will enjoy 4K support, uncapped frame rates, and enhanced multiplayer options, including local split-screen and online capabilities. Most notably, this release will mark Blood’s official console debut, complete with added crossplay. This development allows players across various platforms to connect seamlessly.
Expansions and Major Mods
The release package will include the two official expansion packs, Plasma Pak and Cryptic Passage, offering enthusiasts more content to explore. Additionally, two significant mods expand the game further. The Marrow expansion, featuring a ten-map set that picks up immediately after the base game's events, will be included at launch. A second mod, DeathWish, explores a modern setting and heralds the return of the formidable antagonist Tchernobog. This expansion, however, is planned as a free post-launch update, providing continued support and fresh challenges for the community.
Slated for release on Thursday, September 4, Blood: Refreshed Supply will be available on PC through Steam, Epic, and GOG, as well as on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo consoles. This broad availability ensures that both nostalgic fans and a new generation of players can enjoy the enhancements and expanded content, solidifying Blood’s place in the modern gaming landscape.
