The newly-released Shadow of the Erdtree DLC has propelled Elden Ring back to the No.1 position on Steam, marking a triumphant return for the popular game. Rising three places week-on-week, Elden Ring's latest expansion debuted in second place following its release on June 20th.
Elden Ring had not held the No.1 spot on Steam since its initial debut in 2022, with its highest ranking since then being second place at the beginning of 2023. The challenging RPG managed to surpass Counter-Strike 2, which slipped to third place, while PUBG: Battlegrounds fell to No.4.
Shifts in the Steam Top Ten
Black Myth: Wukong pre-orders secured the fifth spot on the chart, dropping two places from the previous week. Valve’s Steam Deck climbed two positions to sixth, likely aided by a 15 per cent discount on the original LCD 64GB and 512GB models as Valve sought to clear stock. Both versions are now sold out, indicating a successful clearance strategy.
Chained Together, a chaotic co-op game, entered the chart at seventh place after its launch on June 19th, while Destiny 2 fell two spots to eighth as excitement waned for its new Final Shape DLC. Dota 2 rose to ninth place, and Warframe surged 25 spots to claim the tenth spot following the release of the Jade Shadows quest.
