NVIDIA Expands GeForce NOW with New Games and Enhanced Features

20 Aug 2024

NVIDIA is set to enhance its GeForce NOW cloud gaming platform by incorporating three of the most exciting PC games currently available or on the horizon: Black Myth: Wukong, Star Wars Outlaws, and the much-anticipated Final Fantasy XVI from Square Enix. The latter is particularly noteworthy, as it will make its PC debut in September, and players can get a taste of the action today with a free-to-play demo launched during Gamescom. This demo will also be streamable via GeForce NOW, allowing gamers to experience it seamlessly in the cloud.

Expanding Gaming Horizons

With a staggering library of 2,000 games, GeForce NOW stands out as an innovative leader in the cloud gaming arena. The platform allows PC gamers to tap into their existing libraries from Steam, Epic Games, and Xbox, delivering performance that rivals the capabilities of a GeForce RTX 4080. Players can expect stunning visuals with support for up to 4K resolution, enhanced by technologies such as DLSS, Frame Generation, and ray tracing. The addition of G-SYNC ensures a smooth and immersive gaming experience.

Both Black Myth: Wukong and Star Wars Outlaws will feature full ray tracing, enhanced by DLSS 3.5 Ray Reconstruction technology, which significantly boosts image fidelity. As a result, the GeForce NOW versions of these titles are poised to deliver some of the most visually impressive gameplay available.

Streamlined Access to Game Libraries

In a move to further streamline the gaming experience, NVIDIA has announced the introduction of account linking with Xbox Automatic Sign-On on the GeForce NOW platform. This feature allows users to link their NVIDIA and Xbox accounts, granting them instant access to their Xbox or PC Game Pass library without the hassle of repeated logins. This integration includes popular titles such as Sea of Thieves, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and Forza Horizon 5.

Moreover, NVIDIA's Game Sync feature will ensure that users can easily identify which Xbox games are supported on GeForce NOW, enhancing the overall user experience and making cloud gaming more accessible than ever.

What engine does Final Fantasy XVI use?

Final Fantasy XVI uses a modified version of the Luminous Engine, which is also the engine developed by Square Enix for Final Fantasy XV. The game leverages this engine to deliver high-quality graphics and an immersive world. The Luminous Engine is known for its advanced rendering capabilities and detailed environments that contribute significantly to the visual fidelity of the game.
