Forza Horizon 4 to be Delisted from Digital Stores on December 15

26 Jun 2024

Forza Horizon 4 will be delisted from digital stores on December 15, meaning it and additional content will no longer be available for purchase on the Microsoft Store and Steam, Playground Games announced today. Playground Games attributed the decision to delist Forza Horizon 4 to “licensing and agreements with our partners,” referring to the franchise’s complex array of car and music deals. Forza Horizon 3 was previously delisted in 2020.

Final Roadmap Revealed

As part of the run-up to delisting, Playground Games revealed its final roadmap for Forza Horizon 4, confirming that the final series will begin July 25 and end on August 22. After that, it will no longer be possible to access the playlist screen, but fans will still be able to access the Forza Events screen along with a selection of daily and weekly challenges that can be used to earn Forzathon Points.

DLC Delisting and Discounts

In the meantime, Playground Games is delisting Forza Horizon 4’s DLC starting today, with only the Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate versions available for purchase. For those looking to pick up Forza Horizon 4 before it’s gone, Playground Games says it will run various discounts, including a sale on the Xbox Store on July 14.

Availability After Delisting

After December 15, Forza Horizon 4 will be delisted from stores and Xbox Game Pass. It will still be available to play and re-download for those who already own it, and online and multiplayer features will remain intact. Playground Games also confirmed that physical copies will continue to work as normal.

Game Overview

Originally released in 2018 for Xbox One and PC, Forza Horizon 4 takes the popular open-world racing series to the UK, introducing changing seasons among other features. We wrote in our review at the time, “[Forza Horizon 4] combines a beautiful world that’s really four hugely distinct maps in one with a constantly rewarding and self-renewing racing experience and I really can’t tear myself away from it. Playground Games hasn’t just upped the ante once again; it’s blown the bloody doors off.”

While Playground Games has long since moved on to Forza Horizon 5, which was our Game of the Year in 2021, Forza Horizon 4 still holds up just fine. Make sure to pick it up while you can.
