Kaspersky Releases Linux Antivirus Despite U.S. Ban

14 Nov 2025

Kaspersky has launched a new line of Linux antivirus packages globally on 2025-11-14, despite a sales ban in the United States. The Russian-based company offers three product tiers: Standard, Plus, and Premium, to cater to different user needs.

Product Features and Tiers

The Standard plan includes antivirus protection, performance optimization, a disk cleaner, and online payment protection. The Plus plan offers additional features such as a data leak checker, crypto threat protection, and a hard drive health monitor. Premium users receive 24/7 remote IT support, an encrypted vault for documents, Wi-Fi monitoring, and Kaspersky Safe Kids.

Pricing and Compliance

Introductory prices are set at $38.99 for Standard, $51.99 for Plus, and $53.99 for Premium, with renewal costs rising to $59.99, $79.99, and $89.99 respectively. The products are not GDPR compliant. Supported distributions include Ubuntu 24.04, ALT Linux 10, Uncom 2.3.5, and RED OS 7.

Global Restrictions

Kaspersky products remain unavailable in the U.S. for purchase, and their use is restricted on government devices in Canada, the EU, Australia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Romania, and the UK. Additionally, Germany and Italy have advised against its use in critical infrastructure.
