Solo Player Completes Exotic Mission in Destiny 2, Sparks Controversy

16 Jun 2024

Destiny 2's new exotic mission, Dual Destiny, has sparked some controversy within the gaming community. Despite this, PCG UK editor-in-chief Phil Savage hails it as the best exotic mission Bungie has created in years.

Exotic Mission Dynamics

Dual Destiny requires two players to work together, solving puzzles and navigating challenges akin to a mini raid. While some players find it worth the effort to find a partner through LFG, solo players like Esoterickk face a unique challenge.

Esoterickk, known for soloing difficult missions in Destiny, took on Dual Destiny in a creative way. Using two accounts simultaneously—one on mouse and keyboard, the other on a controller—Esoterickk completed the mission solo by controlling both characters.

Solo Players' Unique Challenge

While Esoterickk admits the run wasn't overly difficult, the time investment and logistical challenges were significant. Requiring a second computer or console, a second screen, and gear for the second account, this feat showcases a high level of dedication.

While Esoterickk's approach is impressive, it's not recommended for the average player. Utilizing the LFG tool to find a partner is a simpler and more cost-effective solution for enjoying Dual Destiny.
