Final Fantasy XVI to Launch on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store in 2024

19 Aug 2024

Epic Games and Valve have officially confirmed that the highly anticipated PC version of Final Fantasy XVI will be available on both the Steam and Epic Games Store platforms. Gamers can look forward to diving into this expansive world starting September 17, 2024.

Details on the Release

The journey to this announcement has been marked by speculation, as Square Enix previously indicated a six-month exclusivity window following the game’s launch on PS5 on June 22, 2023. In September 2023, Producer Naoki Yoshida hinted at forthcoming news regarding the PC version, further fueling excitement among fans. Additionally, Yoshida confirmed in March 2024 that a demo for the PC edition will be available, mirroring the PS5 experience. By June 2024, Director Hiroshi Takai also affirmed that development for the PC version was well underway.

Product pages for Final Fantasy XVI are now live on both the Epic Games Store and Steam, with a standard price set at $59.99. Early purchasers will receive the Onion Sword along with their purchase. Those who buy the game before October 17, 2024, will also unlock exclusive bonuses, including the Brave Blade sword, Cait Sith’s Charm accessory, and the “Sixteen Bells” Orchestrion Roll for the in-game music player. For those seeking a more comprehensive experience, a Complete Edition will be available for $89.99, which includes the Echoes of the Fallen and The Rising Tide add-ons.
