Google has begun rolling out a significant update to Play Services, enhancing media transfer and introducing features for future secure item location sharing via Find Hub. Released on 2025-11-26, this update aims to improve usability and security across various services.
New Media Transfer Feature
The update includes one-tap media transfer suggestion chips accessible in the Media Output switcher of Quick Settings. Users can now quickly swap audio between nearby devices by expanding Quick Settings and tapping Media Output.
Find Hub and Encryption Improvements
An anticipated addition to Find Hub is the secure item location sharing feature. This capability manages the encryption and aggregation of item locations shared through URLs, potentially supporting Bluetooth tag sharing or lost-luggage services in the future.
System Enhancements and Bug Fixes
Additional updates include bug fixes for Device Connections and System Management & Diagnostics services. System management security has also been improved. New developer options have been integrated, allowing customization of when users see the Google Play Games profile setup during gameplay. A link to new settings on the Google Wallet website has been included.
This Play Services update is being rolled out gradually to users.
