Pebble is making a strategic return by reviving its app store, enhancing its smartwatch ecosystem with new features.
Upcoming Device Releases
Pebble announced the Pebble 2 Duo and Pebble Time 2 in March and is preparing for their retail debut in the upcoming months. Although exact dates aren't confirmed, preorder customers of Pebble 2 Duo can expect deliveries soon. However, the Pebble Time 2, initially slated for December 2025, might see a slight delay into the new year.
App Store Developments
Eric Migicovsky, leading Pebble's resurgence, confirmed that the renewed app store hosts thousands of applications, combining both older classics and new entries. The store is expected to expand continually. Developers can now submit apps without a fee, broadening opportunities for content creation. New features include shareable link previews for messaging platforms and a recommendations section, designed to promote lesser-known apps.
Supporting Software Rollout
Complementing the hardware, Pebble has released companion apps for both iOS and Android, emphasizing the role of software in anchoring Pebble's market return. These developments underscore Pebble's commitment to fostering a robust ecosystem around its smartwatches, ensuring a well-rounded user experience upon launch.
