Google has eliminated the option to uninstall updates for system apps through the Play Store. This change affects a wide range of system app types, including hidden ones such as Android System WebView.
New Update Policy
Previously, users could open a system app's Play Store page and tap an 'Uninstall updates' button to revert to an earlier version. However, this option has been replaced by a blank space in the app listings. The removal is part of a broader rollout and is not limited to specific Play Store versions; it was noted in version 49.1.33-31.
Alternative Update Management
Google has not commented on the reason for this change. Users can still uninstall system app updates, but the process must now be done via the device's Settings page. To do this, open the app in Settings, tap the three-dot menu, and select 'Uninstall updates.'
