Rockstar Games announced that Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare will be released on 2025-12-02 across new platforms, including Netflix, next-gen consoles, and mobile devices.
Platforms and Features
These updated versions of Red Dead Redemption will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and for the first time, on iOS and Android devices. Players using mobile devices can enjoy touchscreen controls. For Netflix subscribers, these games are included as part of their membership. Enhanced graphics and smoother performance come with features like HDR, up to 4K resolution, and 60 frames per second on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The Nintendo Switch 2 versions will also support DLSS, mouse compatibility, and run at 60 frames per second.
Subscription and Upgrades
On release, both games will be added to the Netflix platform and PlayStation Plus Game Catalogue. Additionally, owners of the PS4, original Switch, or backward-compatible Xbox One versions can upgrade to the new edition at no additional cost. Save data transfers from PS4 and Switch are supported, allowing players to continue their progress seamlessly.
Development and Content
These releases include the full Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare single-player narratives, along with all bonus content from the Game of the Year Edition. The updated titles were created in partnership with Double Eleven and Cast Iron Games, enhancing compatibility and performance across all new platforms.
