Google has launched a new Images tab in the Google app for Android and iOS users, enhancing visual content discovery. The feature, released in the US over the coming weeks, aims to provide a more engaging way to explore images.
Features and Functionality
The Images tab is positioned at the center of the app's bottom bar. It delivers an endless feed of visuals, tailored to individual user interests, and includes a pull-to-refresh function. Images show their source site, displaying content from platforms such as Instagram. Users can tap images to view them fullscreen, with similar images displayed beneath.
Enhanced User Engagement
Alongside visual browsing, the Images tab provides a 'Search for images' bar at the top, simplifying photo searches. Users can save images to Collections, allowing for organization in folders, reminiscent of Pinterest. This update offers a visual exploration experience akin to Google Discover.
