OnePlus has integrated Google Gemini into its MindSpace app with the OxygenOS 16 update, enhancing AI-driven, personalized assistance for users. This integration aims to create a more context-aware experience right on users' devices.
New AI Integration
MindSpace now serves as an on-device AI hub, storing personal content and context seamlessly. With the integration of Google Gemini, users can pair MindSpace in the Gemini app's App Activity screen, enabling personalized and context-aware functionalities. This feature can be invoked by typing "@Mind Space" to extract inspiration from stored screenshots and other saved content.
Enhanced Capabilities
The AI powering MindSpace, called Plus Mind, acts as a smart screenshot assistant. It suggests ideas based on various factors such as dates, locations, and fashion, assisting with tasks like interior design, trip planning, and food recommendations. Users need to ensure that their device and Google app are up to date to utilize this feature.
Activating MindSpace
To enable this feature, users should open the Gemini app and navigate to Profile > Gemini App Activity > Enable. After completing the onboarding and consent screens, MindSpace can be activated on supported devices either by long-pressing the Plus Key on OnePlus 13 series models or using a three-finger swipe-up gesture on other supported models. The OxygenOS 16 update began its rollout on 2023-10-16.
