OpenAI's Sora, an AI video-sharing platform popular on iOS, is launching an Android app soon. The platform, which already tops the App Store charts, aims to broaden user engagement with this expansion.
New Features and Enhancements
Bill Peebles, OpenAI's head of Sora, revealed several new features. The Android version will introduce character cameos, allowing users to create AI-generated videos of their pets, people, or objects. Additionally, Sora will improve its social functions by introducing specific community channels. Basic video-editing tools for stitching clips will also be part of the update.
Current Access and Availability
Sora is currently available on iOS and the web. Android users can access it through a progressive web app by visiting Sora in Chrome, selecting "Add to home screen," and installing the app. The full Android app promises to enhance access and usability for a wider audience.
