Google One has introduced a new, more intuitive storage cleanup interface for its Android and iOS apps. This update, available in version 1.287.828055836, streamlines the process of managing storage by offering a Tinder-like swipe feature.
User-Friendly Interface Changes
The new cleanup page in Google One suggests various items for deletion, such as large photos and videos, sizable Drive files, emails with hefty attachments, and trash emails. On tapping a category, users are taken to a specific 'Items from' page. The redesigned Photos page now displays smaller thumbnails, allowing more items to be visible on screen.
Interactive Swipe Feature
In a nod to popular user interfaces, the update introduces a swipe feature: swiping left deletes an item, while swiping right retains it. This is signaled by icons, with a trash bin for delete and a heart for keep. The Drive page has also seen improvements, with a select-all checkmark and a reworked filter row, enhancing file management efficiency.
Availability and Access
The changes are rolling out across Android and iOS devices, though the update's availability may differ between individual devices. Google One aims to make the process of freeing up storage space faster and more intuitive for its users.
