Google Photos introduces a new face-editing feature named Touch Up, enhancing photo modification options.
Touch Up Features
Found in app version 7.56.0.839465534, Touch Up is under Actions in the image editor. Users must download a 16MB package to access tools: Smooth, Under Eyes, Irises, Teeth, Eyebrows, Lips with sliders from 0 to 100.
- Up to six faces can be edited in group photos.
- Adjustments can be made individually per face.
- A user notification appears if more than six faces are detected.
The tools provide advanced retouching beyond existing features in Google's Camera app.
Subscription and Availability
A Gemini subscription might be needed for Touch Up, though this is not confirmed by Google. No official release date has been announced, but testing indicates functionality is ready, possibly launching soon. This follows the addition of simpler tools in the Camera app, indicating a focus on enhancing photo customization.
