Google is enhancing Chrome by expanding its Autofill capabilities to streamline form completion across devices, including desktops and Android applications.
Expanded Autofill Features
Chrome's enhanced Autofill, which launched in 2023-11, now supports saving vehicle details to Google Wallet. Once entered in Chrome for desktop, these details are accessible on any device linked to the user's Google Account.
The integration allows Chrome to pull data like boarding passes and loyalty card info from Google Wallet. This enhancement is available on desktops and the Android app.
Improved User Interface on Android
The Android version of Chrome now displays Autofill suggestions in a two-line view. This format ensures users can quickly identify names, addresses, passwords, and payment methods, reducing the risk of errors during selection.
Secure Data Retrieval
Chrome will now securely obtain and present saved names, email addresses, and physical addresses from users' Google Accounts. This feature is particularly beneficial when setting up new devices.
The update also improves Chrome's understanding of international address formats, accommodating diverse needs such as 'between streets' in Mexico and phonetic names in Japan.
These updates aim to enhance user efficiency when filling out forms and managing travel or payment details, and are rolling out for both desktop and mobile platforms.
