Sega has officially launched Sonic Rumble, a multiplayer game available on Android, iOS, and Steam, inspired by the popular Fall Guys format.
Game Features and Mechanics
In Sonic Rumble, players engage in a 32-player battle royale, competing in races that feature dynamic obstacles crafted by Dr. Eggman. The whimsical setting is a toy world, where players control toy figures in pursuit of collecting rings and finishing fastest.
The game includes a range of cosmetics for character customization, allowing for unique avatars utilizing various famous Sonic characters. Sega highlights the inclusion of less commonly featured characters alongside the fan-favorite Sonic the Hedgehog.
Platform Availability and Concerns
Sonic Rumble is accessible on Android and iOS, in addition to Steam. It is also compatible with Google Play Games on PC, broadening the reach to a more extensive player base.
Despite its appealing gameplay, there have been concerns about the cost of in-game character skins, potentially affecting the game’s reception among certain players. Sega has yet to address these concerns publicly.
The game was initially unveiled the previous year, leading to anticipation for this release.
