Take-Two Sees Shift Toward PC and Mobile Gaming Platforms

18 Nov 2025

Take-Two Interactive's CEO, Strauss Zelnick, noted a market shift toward PC and open platforms in the gaming industry, while consoles and mobile remain significant. According to Zelnick, the growing trend favors open systems over traditional, closed ones.

Revenue Distribution Analysis

Major acquisitions, such as Zynga for $12.7 billion in 2022, have significantly boosted Take-Two's mobile revenues. Currently, games from Zynga, Rollic, and Nordeus constitute 46% of Take-Two’s net revenue. Console titles contribute 41%, while PC and other platforms account for 13%.

Market Insights

Leading figures in the gaming industry, including Microsoft's Satya Nadella and Phil Spencer, have highlighted a blending of console and PC gaming, offering players more choices. As a result, Take-Two's flagship franchises like Grand Theft Auto and Borderlands continue to perform well across both console and PC platforms.

Future Outlook: Take-Two expects mobile gaming revenue to increase by about 10% in the next quarter. This projection coincides with Newzoo's estimate of global mobile game revenue reaching $188.8 billion this year, marking a 3.4% rise. Console and PC gaming are projected at $45.9 billion.
