Google has released the Android 16 QPR3 Beta 2 update for Pixel devices. This release prioritizes bug fixes, enhances stability, and revamps the System Settings layout to make navigation easier.
System Stability and Bug Fixes
The update addresses several critical issues in the current system. It fixes system crashes and device freezes and resolves glitches in the notification shade and app drawer interfaces. Specific improvements include fixing app drawer unresponsiveness when scrolling and enhancing graphics and performance in full-screen and Picture-in-Picture (PiP) modes.
Improvements have also been made to the overnight battery efficiency by optimizing background processes. Connectivity issues like slow Wi‑Fi speeds and audio routing problems have been addressed, ensuring smoother transitions when switching to speakerphone and fixing screen flicker upon waking from the Always-On Display.
Settings Redesign and Connectivity Improvements
The System Settings layout has been redesigned by grouping related options into sections for better navigation. Charging limits are now handled more reliably with improvements seen in both wireless and wired charging methods. The update also resolves crashes specific to radio info settings and issues with Intune-managed Microsoft apps on Pixel devices.
The release is part of an over-the-air update for beta testers, with build numbers CP11.251209.007.A1 and CP11.251209.007. It is compatible with Pixel 6 series devices and onward, expected to become stable by March 2026. Users can install via OTA or sideload the build.
