Androidify Brings Custom Bots to Wear OS Watches

19 Dec 2025

Google has updated its Androidify app to allow users to create personal Android bots and apply them as watch faces on Wear OS devices. The update, released on 2025-12-18, enables transformation of selfies into unique Android characters that can be transferred to compatible smartwatches such as the Pixel Watch.

Release and Features

The Androidify update uses Imagen to craft a bot from selfies and provides several customization options on the phone before sending the design to the watch. This is facilitated via the Watch Face Push API, which Google outlined for developers on the same date, allowing for dynamic watch face generation directly from the Androidify app.

  • Androidify personalization includes superhero, snowboarder, and other character themes.
  • Watch Face Push API allows the bot to be seamlessly applied to the watch.
  • Developers can utilize Watch Face Push for enhanced customization capabilities.

Development and Impact

The updated Androidify app was highlighted in earlier showcases at a September event and Google's I/O 2025. It leverages Imagen for image creation and incorporates Gemini for prompt handling, with Veo 3 supporting animation trials, according to Google.

Google encourages developers to explore the new features to boost user engagement by offering creative watch face experiences.
