Manus, a development platform, now allows app publishing without the need for setting up Xcode or Android Studio. This feature facilitates the transformation of apps built within Manus into installable mobile builds. Developers can complete app distribution through Google Play Console and Apple’s App Store Connect.
New App Publishing Process
For Android apps, Manus generates an Android App Bundle (AAB) for uploading to Google Play. For Apple’s iOS, developers must have an Apple Developer account. They create an app entry, generate and upload the build, and await Apple’s processing to distribute via TestFlight.
This update allows developers to save time in the early setup phases, though they must still navigate existing platform rules. Manus bypasses much of the initial work that can discourage non-mobile developers.
Distribution Challenges Remain
Despite Manus handling app packaging, Google and Apple control the testing and rollout processes through their respective platforms. Developers are still required to comply with developer accounts, fees, and policy guidelines.
To explore this new feature, developers are advised to begin with a small prototype and distribute it via Play internal testing or TestFlight. Key considerations include plan eligibility, availability, and supported app types.
